It is clearly evident how web series are emerging out to be a pivotal in the youth and not to mention Netflix’s, Sacred Games has been a great success in its first season and has been highly eulogized by international audience as well and this is the reason the second season is most awaited but wait will there be another season of sacred games?
Varun Grover, who is a co-writer of hit Indian original web series, sacred games has been alleged of sexual harassment in the ongoing #Metoo campaign which might create negligible chance of this shows’ sequel and season 2 might gets pulled off. However Varun clearly denied all the allegations making his side all clear in a long twitter post.
Not long ago, in a report presented by in.com revealed “At this time we are evaluating options on the path forward.” and another revelation made stating “The #MeToo challenge is going the Hollywood way. After the news that Reliance is apparently considering dropping Vikas Bahl’s (one of the partners of phantom), name from the credits in super 30 which he is directing , now comes another piece of news . In the light of recent allegations against one of the writers of Sacred Games, Varun Grover, Netflix is considering some options on how to tackle the situation. They may drop the successful web series completely (which turned around Saif’s career once more) or drop the name of writer.”
It seems like the OTT platform which the show gets featured on gets cold feet about whether to turn up with the second season or not in context with the co-writer of the show being accused of the sexual harassment which might deteriorate their persona but the fact cannot be ignored that Varun Grover is openly being supported by the celebrities who are not governing him with all those sexual harassment allegation making his stance clear.
As the first season of sacred games has been a cliffhanger with a huge hit at international level as well despite of being first Netflix India original, it would be much thought provoking that what decision OTT spring to.
