In a big relief to students, grace marks awarded to those narrowly missing the passing marks will not be printed on their mark sheets — something which the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had proposed earlier.
The CBSE will follow the moderation policy and will grant extra grace marks to students almost missing the passing marks. The CBSE will declare the Class 12 results on Sunday.
In April, the CBSE along with 32 boards had taken a decision to do away with moderation and had also decided to display grace marks on students’ mark sheets.
We will follow the policy as directed by the High Court and as per our own moderation policy, which is in place. But as decided earlier we will not mention, though we had decided to do so in the April meeting,” a senior board official has said.
Grace marks are given in cases where a student narrowly misses the passing mark.
