Delhi University recently came up with a great initiative-Research Without Barriers, that will allow people from any educational, professional, or economic background to sell an idea of theirs. This new and unique initiative is aimed at bettering the way Research activities are looked at in Indian Institutes. The varsity will be sponsoring all kinds of ideas under the four years scheme of “Institution of Eminence.” Knowledge shouldn’t be limited to the original concepts of requirements of degrees and this innovative way ensures that promising ideas are delivered. The proposal should contain a clear procedure, outcome, and should specify a timeline for its completion.
“This is a unique experiment to tap talent. DU has a huge responsibility towards the nation; its resources and expertise shouldn’t be restricted merely to its students and faculty. This initiative will widen the catchment area, change the way research is perceived and carried out, and will democratize the arena” Professor Yogesh Tyagi, Vice Chancellor DU told The Times Of India.
This initiative can be a great success as it invites people from all spheres and locations. Not only researchers but entrepreneurs and any person with adequate knowledge can showcase their idea through the platform.
For all science domains, a maximum duration of four years will be provided to the projects, while for mathematical sciences, arts, social sciences, applied social sciences, humanities, commerce, management, education, and law, the projects can be allowed for a three-year duration.
