For the first time, Delhi University plans another open day for all aspirants before DU admissions start.
Usually, only one open day is conducted before college admissions begin. However, this time the event will be conducted on October 5, in light of this year’s admission process being totally online. The same will be hosted so that doubts of students can be cleared. All would be welcomed to clear queries related to the admission process, doubts raised during online admission, questions related to the application, questions related to calculation of marks, etc. in the session. Undergraduate admissions at DU will start with the first cutoff releasing on October 12, while the new academic session will begin from November 12. Applicants will be allowed to edit their forms from September 12 to October 5.
Delhi University’s Dean of Admissions, Shobha Bagai, told TOI, “We would be having an open house before admissions begin. We are planning an online webinar for all applicants to help them with the calculation of cutoff percentage, and other issues.” The webinar will be recorded and put on social media so that the maximum students can clear their doubts.

An Admission Department official, noted, “Most students will have doubts regarding their best-of-four subjects or what they should do when they do not have a certain subject and may have to tolerate a percentage cut in their best-of-four.”
The admission process in colleges would open from 10:00 AM in the morning and close at 5:00 PM in the evening. All doubts regarding document verification will be clarified on the open day session scheduled for October 5. Since the semester has already been delayed, a lot of time will not be devoted to handling multiple events, so on the 5th students will have an opportunity to clear all their doubts.
Despite the pandemic and the lockdown, Delhi University saw the number of applications filed was 3,53,919, the highest till now.
