Fighting COVID with a device and not a vaccine

While the vaccine still seems like a distant dream, India decided to tighten the reins of COVID-19 by fighting COVID with a device, not a vaccine.

A device designed by an Indian scientist Rajah Vijay KumarScalene Hypercharge Corona Canon (SHYCOCAN) has now got clearances from regulatory agencies in the US and EU for production under emergency use against COVID-19.

SHYCOCAN is a device that emits photons that can disarm the virus.

The device is intended to ‘physically attenuate’ the homing mechanism on the virus and prevent infectivity.

In other words, the device release a very high concentration of environmentally safe electrons using proprietary Photon-Mediated Electron Emitters (PMEEs) made with a superalloy developed by Scalene, to emit and excite photons with the required kinetic energy.

“As the high energy photons bombard bulk surfaces and suspended particles in confined environments, the electron cloud actively ‘disarms’ air and surface transmission of the Corona family of viruses,” Kumar added.

During the process, the device targets only the Corona family of viruses. “Laboratory studies show that bacteria, fungi, or other eco-friendly microorganisms are not targeted by this technology, allowing for 24/7, safe deployment”, he added.

Chairman of innovative technology company Organization De Scalene, Kumar told TOI: “In the US, Emergo, the notified body under US-FDA that clears medical devices, has given us permission for production and marketing. In addition, we have successfully completed extensive European Union CE- mandated safety testing undertaken by the Underwriters Laboratories and obtained the class-I CE Mark, enabling expedited manufacture, distribution, and sales in all CE-compliant countries, including India.”

(CE stands for “Conformité Européene” meaning European Conformity. It is a mandatory certification to sell a product in EU.)

Subsequently, De Scalene-India will now fast-track the manufacturing and other requisite procedures of the CE-marked SHYCOCAN. It will abide by the US-FDA ‘Enforcement Policy for containment of SARS-COV2 during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency’.

Certainly this technology is the only experimentally proven one with straight virologic, bacteriological, and fungal studies. “SHYCOCAN and will help create ‘safer zones’ in homes, healthcare facilities, grocery chains, eateries, schools, daycares, places of worship, and residential, corporate, industrial and sporting environments, to fill unmet needs, without affecting other life forms like bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals,” he said.

“We are transferring technology as a humanitarian license as we want the device to reach as many people. Therefore, it will be affordable. Since we are only a research organization, we are in talks with manufacturers. We will arrive at a cost very soon”, Kumar spoke.

The device will launch at 00:00 IST on August 15.

Meanwhile Russia successfully tests vaccine for COVID-19, many health and medicinal institute are still striving hard to discover the vaccine.
