Amidst the excitement of various college fests, Ibtida-The Dramatics Society of Hindu College organised ‘Itehaad-e-Ibtida’, the Unique Street Play Celebration as part of its Annual Theatre Festival, ‘Medina’ on the 11th of March. Theatre enthusiasts of colleges all over Delhi came to participate in this dramatics extravaganza.
Medina, which is known all over the Delhi Collegiate Theatre Circuit for its grandeur, is the only fest of its kind.
Unlike other theatre fests, here, the members of one college team are shuffled with other members from other teams and this time, in Medinagarh, they were asked to perform current and past year productions.
After an enthralling day, the event ended with a huge celebration, raising a toast to the real spirit of street theatre – togetherness and experimentation.
The winners were felicitated at the end of the event. The play to bag the first position was “Depression, Let’s Talk” directed by the Third years of Aurobindo College and performed by Second years of MAIT and First years of SBSC (M). The play to bag the second prize was “Thoda Dard Hi Sahi”, directed by the Third years of SBSC (M) and performed by Second years of Sri Venkateswara College and First years of Maharaja Agrasen College. Lastly, the play to win the third prize was “A” directed by the Third years of Hansraj College and performed by Second years of Jesus and Mary College and First years of Keshav Mahavidyalaya.
