On 14th February 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, India.
With over 40 CRPF personnel martyred, Govind Singh Dotasra, the Education Minister of Rajasthan has said that the government is considering to add a chapter in light of the Pulwama terror attack in the school course books.“If a chapter on the martyrs is added, then they, definitely, will be honoured,” said Dotasra.
The committee reviewing the textbooks includes I.V. Trivedi, former Vice Chancellor of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University as the coordinator along with the G.N. Ghasiya, Rajiv Bagaria and Ashish Vyas as members.
“We have recommended it to the committee which has been set up to review books and it is at the discretion of the government to add the material related to Pulwama, along with the stories praising them,” said Dotasra. He also added that after Congress came into power in Rajasthan in December last year, the Government will review the reference materials and the course books that were earlier revised by the BJP government.
Dotastra feels that if the students are learning about the surgical strike then they should also know about the Pulwama attack and the personnel killed in it, as five such martyrs are from Rajasthan itself.
The committees are expected to prepare a report on the subject and submit it to the government shortly.
