Students of Delhi University have now got a chance to learn about what happiness is. From the month of August, Ramanujan College of Delhi University is starting a six-month certificate course on how to lead a happy life.
The first batch of students would be receiving the lecture from Prof Kasisomayajula Viswanath (Director of India Research Center and Harvard Center for Public Health and Happiness) at the School of Happiness started by Ramanujan college in 2018. The course is multidisciplinary and would have both theory and practical, which has been finalized with the consultation from the departments of Philosophy, Economics, Geography, and Applied Psychology.
A special module has been made in which students would be taught through case studies about how to be happy in everyday life and develop the feeling of gratitude in their hearts and the pleasure of helping others. Various sessions of mindfulness and fine arts would also be included.
The college principal, SP Agarwal has considered this course as the main benefit especially to the outstation students who leave their cities to accommodate in Delhi and goes through a lot of stress, and thus need these activities to make peace with them.
