Udaan- A mega nukkad natak competition took place in the Faculty of Arts, North Campus from 20th-23rd September. More than 25 teams from DU and other universities participated in this festival. Anu Malik, Manoj Tiwary, Anupam Kher and several other people from Bollywood were present at this event during the 4 days.
Patriotism and Nationalism in various forms were depicted by most of the plays. Plays which brought about feelings of love and respect for the nation left a deep impact on the audience as well as the judges. Satire, sarcasm and comedy forced people to think about the current situation of our country.
The event culminated in Hansraj College, where the prize distribution took place.
In front of a packed audience, Anupam Kher shared his journey of becoming an actor. He later gave away the prizes as well.
Shivaji College stood first and received a trophy with 51,000/- cash prize.
Hansraj College and Vivekananda colleges were the 1st and 2nd runner ups and received 31,000/- and 21,000/- cash prizes respectively.
Hansraj College won the Best Script award for their play Paramveer, which was a tribute to the Indian Army.
Diksha from Vivekananda College won the Best actor award.
All the special guests were amazed to see the performance of the students of Delhi University and were extremely impressed with their witty presentations and knowledge of theatre!
