VLCC Femina Miss India 2020: Often we hear people achieving their dreams after a lot of struggle. Overcoming many such struggles, Manya Singh has won the runner-up title of VLCC Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant. Manya’s father Omprakash Singh is an autorickshaw driver in Uttar Pradesh. She had to face many difficulties to reach Miss India. She told that there were many nights in her father’s life when he slept without eating food. Her story has become an inspiration for many young girls who dream to enter the glamour world but their resources are scarce.
The Beauty Contest was held on the night of 9 February. Manasa Varanasi of Telangana won the VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 title, while Manika Sheokand of Haryana won the Femina Miss Grand India 2020 title.
Sharing her family photos on Instagram, Manya wrote, “I have spent many nights without food and sleep. I walked for many afternoons on foot. My blood, sweat, and tears became food for my soul and I dared to dream. As the daughter of a rickshaw driver, I never had the opportunity to go to school because I had to start working in my teens.”
Manya ran away from home at the age of 14. She finished her studies in some way. She worked as a dishwasher during the day and worked in the call-center at night. She used to walk for miles to reach someplace so that she could save the fare of the rickshaw. She said her mother has suffered a lot for her. Her mother gave up her jewellery so that she could pay her education fees.
According to Manya, her inspiration in Glamour’s world is Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Manya said that she has learned the qualities of never giving up and working hard from her mother.
